About the function

Are you ready for a role where you'll act as the link between outfitting and class offices? As a Design Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to independently set up 3D construction plans, develop section drawings, and create product information. You'll also be involved in resolving error messages during construction.

Your day starts at the office around 8:15 a.m. with a cup of coffee and a quick chat with colleagues. You'll spend the morning working on your innovative ideas for weight reduction in the production process. Mid-morning, you'll visit the shipyard to solve a skin plate issue. After lunch, you'll work on a challenging crane foundation for a new RoRo project and finish your day catching up on emails.

About the company

Our client is a family business with over 210 years of experience in shipbuilding. They design and build a variety of ship types, most of which are custom-made. The company is known for high quality, cost efficiency, and personal contact. They are pioneers in sustainability and energy transition, having designed and built the first newly built hybrid General Cargo ship in Europe.

What we need
  • MBO level 4 work and thinking level
  • 0 to 5 years of experience as a structural engineer
  • Experience with Cadmatic is an advantage
  • Strong communication skills
  • Team player
  • Interest in shipbuilding
