As a field technician for steel structures at our client’s site, you will report directly to the workshop manager/project manager. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling and installing steel structures on-site at client locations. You will work from technical drawings and ensure that structures are assembled and finished safely, accurately, and in accordance with specifications.

Our client is a metal fabrication and construction company that manufactures both large and small structures and metal products to customer specifications for clients in the industrial and commercial sectors. To strengthen the team, we are looking for motivated professionals who are interested in working as field service technicians.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assembling and installing steel structures on-site
• Working from technical drawings and assembly instructions
• Aligning, adjusting, and securing structural components
• Assembling and disassembling parts and making adjustments on-site
• Inspecting structures for dimensional accuracy and quality
• Collaborating with colleagues on-site and in the workshop
• Ensuring a safe and tidy work environment

Authority

• Stopping work in unsafe situations
• Identifying and reporting areas for improvement
• Proposing repair and improvement suggestions

• Experience in assembling steel structures or willing to learn
• No fear of heights and willing to work on-site
• Hold a VCA certificate or willing to obtain one
• Independent and flexible work attitude
