As a Hydraulics Service Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and overhauling hydraulic systems and components. You will carry out work at customers’ premises and in the workshop. No two days are the same: one day you might be resolving a complex hydraulic fault, the next you might be replacing components or carrying out preventive maintenance.
Your duties will include:
- Maintaining and repairing hydraulic systems.
- Identifying and rectifying hydraulic and mechanical faults.
- Replacing hydraulic components, hoses and pipework.
- Assembling, dismantling and testing hydraulic systems.
- Reading and interpreting hydraulic and electrical diagrams.
- Carrying out service work at customers’ premises.
- Reporting on work carried out and findings.

- A completed MBO qualification in Mechanical Engineering or demonstrable relevant work experience.
- Experience with hydraulic systems.
- You can read hydraulic and electrical diagrams.
- Knowledge of hydraulic components, hoses and pipework.
- You are technically minded, solution-oriented and able to work independently.
- You do not have an 8-to-5 mentality.
- Hold a VCA certificate.
- Category B driving licence; a Category BE driving licence is an advantage.
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
