As a welder, you will be responsible for carrying out high-quality welding work on steel structures. You will work to technical drawings and welding instructions, ensuring that all work meets the required quality standards.
Your duties will include:
- Reading and interpreting drawings and welding instructions
- Checking workpieces for dimensions, shape and cleanliness
- Preparing, positioning and clamping workpieces
- Carrying out welding work in accordance with specifications
- Removing slag residues and weld spatter and finishing welds
- Preventing welding defects such as crater cracks and fusion defects
- Gouging and grinding seams where necessary
- Visually inspecting welds for quality, dimensions and distortion
You will work closely with colleagues and communicate in Dutch and/or English.

- Proven experience as a welder (minimum VMBO level or equivalent)
- Experience with MAG welding processes (FCAW / 135, 136, 138)
- Valid welding certificates in accordance with EN-ISO 9606-1 (BW & FW, 135 to 138)
- Certification in welding positions:
- Butt joints: PA (1G), PC (2G), PE (4G), PF (3G)
- Fillet joints: PA (1F), PB (2F), PD (4F), PF (3F)
- Process 136 position PG (vertical down)
- Experience in welding carbon steel (FM1 and FM2), preferably also stainless steel/duplex (FM5)
- Welding certificates issued by an IACS-accredited classification society (preferably Lloyd’s Register, Bureau Veritas or DNV)
- Experience with gouging and preferably also SAW (121) and BMBE (111), or willingness to learn these
- Good command of Dutch and/or English
- Preferably in possession of a valid VCA or VCA-Vol certificate
- A healthy work ethic and an eye for quality
- Work on high-quality projects in the shipbuilding industry
